Create your first Job
A Job is the central record for the work you do. Before starting, it helps to have your customer, job number or name, hourly rate, machine, material and planned activities ready.
- Open Jobs and choose New Job.
- Choose Quick for a fast start or Detailed when you want to plan more of the work up front.
- Enter the customer, Job name or number and the basic commercial details.
- Add the machine, material, thickness and operations where relevant.
- Save the Job. It will appear in Active Jobs.
- Open it to start recording time, add notes or photos, and mark it complete when the work is finished.
Choose Quick or Detailed Job setup
Quick
Use Quick when work needs to start immediately and you only need the essentials. You can add detail as the Job develops.
Detailed
Use Detailed when the customer, machine, material and planned operations are already known. This creates a fuller record from the beginning.
Neither choice locks you in. Use the level of detail that suits the work in front of you.
Record time across the whole Job
Open an active Job and start the activity you are working on. CUTANDTRACK keeps machining time visible while also recording the work that happens around the machine.
- Start the right activity before beginning the task.
- Pause or stop it when the work changes.
- Use separate activities for setup, inspection, cleanup, packaging and other non-machining work.
- Review the Job timeline before completing the Job.
Consistent activity names make your totals easier to understand later.
Create your first invoice
- Make sure the Job and customer details are complete.
- Open Invoices and create a new invoice.
- Select the customer and the completed work you want to invoice.
- Review the description, quantities, rates, tax and payment details.
- Preview the invoice before issuing or exporting it.
The invoice should reflect the work you want the customer to see; your detailed workshop record stays available for your own review.
Connect Fusion 360
- Open More, then find the Fusion 360 integration.
- Choose Connect Fusion 360.
- Sign in to Autodesk and approve the requested connection.
- Return to CUTANDTRACK and confirm the connected status.
If the connection does not complete, close the sign-in window, check your internet connection and try again. CUTANDTRACK uses relevant CAM information to support the Job record; it does not replace your Fusion project.
Restore my workshop
CUTANDTRACK is designed around a local-first workshop record. Cloud protection covers supported workshop structure, but some working data may remain only on the original device.
- Sign in with the same CUTANDTRACK account used previously.
- Open the Cloud Sync & Recovery area and check the available workshop data.
- Keep the app open and connected while supported records are restored.
- Review customers, machines, materials and Jobs after the restore completes.
Important: do not erase or discard the old device until you have confirmed that the information you need exists on the new one. Contact support before taking an irreversible step if anything is missing.

Check the basics first.
Job won’t open
Close and reopen the app, then try the Job again. If only one Job is affected, note its name or number before contacting support.
Timer won’t start
Confirm the Job is active and an activity is available. Stop any conflicting timer, then try again. If the problem continues, include the activity name in your support message.
Fusion won’t connect
Check your connection, confirm you can sign in to Autodesk, then restart the connection from CUTANDTRACK. If authorization was cancelled, begin the process again.
Invoice looks wrong
Review the customer, line items, rates, tax and business details. Preview again after saving. Do not issue the invoice until the totals and customer-facing wording are correct.
Sync shows an error
Keep the app open, check your internet connection and retry. Do not delete local data. Note the exact error message and contact support if it returns.
Can’t sign in
Check the email address, password and connection. Use the available password reset flow if needed. If you still cannot sign in, contact support without sharing your password.
